A Belated Honeymoon in the Mountains
Colorado Couples Photography
Some sessions feel like a slow exhale — easy, meaningful, and full of the kind of love that doesn’t need to shout. That’s exactly how it felt photographing Vincent and his wife, Ashley, on their belated honeymoon here in Colorado.
She was one of the sweetest souls I’ve met — lighthearted, up for anything, and so excited to take in the beauty of the mountains. From the moment she stepped into the session, she was ready to play, explore, and take it all in. And Vincent? He was quiet and kind, showing up in the most sincere way possible — not because he loves having his photo taken, but because she does.
She told me beforehand: “Vin is not a fan of photos. We hardly have any of us, lol.” But what stood out to me wasn’t his hesitation — it was his willingness. You could tell just by the way he looked at her, or adjusted her hair, or offered his hand when the trail got rocky: he was fully in it for her. That quiet kind of devotion always photographs beautifully.
They wanted this session to be about Colorado — the scenery, the stillness, the magic of this place. And more than that, she said, “I want to look back at these photos to remember our honeymoon. I want to show them off to everyone who comes to our home and our future kiddos.”
That kind of intention is why I do what I do.
As the sun dipped lower and they held each other in the wide open space, I kept thinking how beautiful it is when someone steps outside their comfort zone — not to perform, but to participate in something that matters to the person they love.
So if you get a card in the mail from these two this year, just know: that photo wasn’t just a moment in the mountains. It was a promise, a memory, and the beginning of something they’ll hold onto for a long time.
