Two Sisters, One Beautiful Reason
Denver Lifestyle Portrait Session
Some photo sessions feel like a deep breath — easy, honest, and full of heart. That was exactly the case with Missy and Susie.
These two sisters booked a session not because they love being in front of the camera (they made that very clear right away, in the most endearing way possible). They booked it because they didn’t have many photos growing up. When their parents passed away, they realized just how few visual memories they had — and they didn’t want that to be the case for the next generation.
They told me this wasn’t about perfect headshots or curated looks. It was just about showing up together — for each other, for their kids, and for their students. Missy is a school teacher, Susie is a social worker in a school, and both of them work with kids every day. Their work, their love, their impact — it’s quiet but deeply felt.
When we started the session, they were adorably hesitant. In fact, after just 15 minutes, they asked if they could be done (even though we had so much more time booked!). But once we got into their second outfits — something shifted. They softened. They smiled more easily. And their personalities came to life.
Missy wore a down-to-earth outfit — and I could immediately imagine how much ease she brings into her classroom. And Susie? She looked so confident, calm, and grounded. She shared that she’s hoping to start her own therapy practice soon, and I couldn’t stop thinking what a gift she’ll be to her future clients.
They told me they were “easy” and “grateful to just have some photos.” But to me, this session was so much more than that. It was a visual love letter to sisterhood, legacy, and quietly showing up for the people who need you.
And I’m just so happy I got to witness it.
